First, I gotta say that a whole lotta "Buffy, the Vampire slayer†love went into the creation of this book. I don’t know who A. M. Robinson is (could not find an Amazon author profile), but she nailed Willow’s “voice†and dialogue. (Okay, located the author on Goodreads and she wrote another book, “Vampire Crush†and it looks intriguing. Might read it now, but I really hate the cover.)Anyway, I highly recommend this book to any Buffy-fan! It has a lot of cool details on spells used throughout the series and journal entries by Willow and other characters. Plus, this cute little side notes/comments by the other characters. Like Spike! And Buffy!The book is all kinds of amazing, and I really, really, really, hope that this same publisher creates a Watcher’s Dairy, a Slayer Handbook, and we need Buffy’s diary (PLEASE do this one!) to go along with this awesome edition because this publisher, "Insight Editions†and the author Ms. Robinson did a freakin’ fantastic job.
I received this in the mail today, neatly wrapped in its brand new plastic and couldn't wait to crack it open. I was captured from the first page. This book is beautiful! The pages are thick and sturdy and each page is covered in colorful illustrations that take on the appearance of being hand drawn and written. There are even random interactive pages where it makes it seem like one of the characters taped something into the Grimoire and written notes in the margins between the characters. The attention to detail is wonderful and it definitely shows in the finished product. I'm so pleased with this book and would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the show. Like I said, it's just beautiful!
A MUST HAVE FOR BUFFY FANS! Very well done and unique compared to most Buffy The Vampire Slayer literature collectibles. So happy and impressed that it's not just copied republished stuff we've already seen. It truly reads as if Willow herself created it. It even has Percy West's History paper Willow helped him with in season 3. :D
I took a risk and pre-ordered this on a whim and got it in the mail today. I've spent the evening looking through it and it's gorgeous, interactive, and a great resource for the spells from the show. I love that you get journal entries from Willow and notes from the gang as they read over Willow's book of spells to try to find a way to defeat the First Evil (though most of the quotes don't really do much toward that goal). This is a fresh and new offering, and I can't wait to look at it again to see what I missed the first read through.
I really loved what they done with this book. Having different characters thoughts on the side of each page and notes, it was cute.
Okay, this is very cool. The book is very well done and I love the artwork. The writing is very simple and fun and very much like Willow in the show. Love this and would recommend it to any Buffy lover.
I thought this was a journal as I was clicking thru various journals when this popped up. I got it for hubby for Christmas and when he opened it, he said it was filled. We were all disappointed.Good news... it's a wonderful book by "Willow" about all the magical aspects of the Buffyverse. So, it ended up ok in the end. Lesson learned... read description!!
If you are a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan-you need this! It's Willow's Grimoire and it's fantastic. It's got all kinda of fun spells from the show and a bunch of notes from Willow. I really enjoyed this. Enough so that I bought another as a gift for a friend!
