Craig Stevens is a husband and father of three children (all of whom love to craft things with their hands). He has been a woodworker for over 15 years and has always been interested in how things work and in making things with his hands. Craig has the desire to pass this knowledge down to the next generation that is growing up not knowing how to use simple tools to make or fix things. He has been involved in teaching woodworking for kids for over 10 years through workshops and videos. He believes that God made each of us with the desire to create, we just need a little help learning how.

This looks to be a good book for learning woodworking. It's divided up into 21 lessons. When I bought the book, I really wanted to see what it was like (I was missing the look inside feature). The pictures inside are black and white, but they're pretty clear (and a lot like the pictures on the front of the book. Each lessons has directions in how to use the item as well as explanations and activities. As a woodworking teacher I now have 7 or more different books on introducing woodworking to kids. This book is by far the best.
My son is almost ready to begin some of these projects. He can use tape measure, screw driver, straight edge, and hammer. I appreciate the photos, diagrams, and explicit instructions. We are going to enjoy this book for several years.
A little disappointed in book. It does have some projects, but the "look and feel" of the book is lacking. More explanation/directions on projects would be better, and color format would add to usefulness. I did find one project to use, so not a total loss.
This wasn't exactly what we thought it was, so it was returned.
My husband teaches a woodshop class and likes the book for tips.
Love this book! Everything is laid out clearly and the projects are great.
This is for my grandson. The projects are fun and I like the explanation on wood.
